Itinerary
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, our Umoja Motherland tour limited professional driver/guide will transfer you to Kigali were you city tour will begin. This tour will take you to the following sites; Nyamata Genocide Church, Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, Kimironko Market, Inema Arts Center, and Campaign Against Genocide Museum (CAG), where you will be able to immerse yourself in Rwandan history. You will then depart for Nyungwe National Park.
Overnight: Nyungwe Top View Hotel (FB)
This lodge commands incredible views of Nyungwe forest area thanks to its location atop one of the hills overlooking it.
All your requests will be addressed promptly and graciously by staff. If you have an early morning adventure, the chef won't hesitate to wake up and fix you breakfast. His menu has plenty of choices for both lovers of a la carte and buffet. He will help you identify the different dishes and share tips on how you can make them when you return home.
Wake up early morning and get ready for your Chimpanzee trekking. Nyungwe National Park is the largest block of montane forest in East and Central Africa and has an incredibly rich biodiversity. After the briefing you will start the Chimpanzee trek and the rangers will do their utmost to help you locate them. Later you will visit the Gisakura tea estate or the canopy walk in Nyungwe.
The climb starts gradually and takes you to the top of the top of the forest, 60 metres above the ground. Its midpoint will provides you with a view like no other. You will dreamy views over the southern region and look into the depths of the park. You will feel a refreshing breeze sweep over you, leaving your skin feeling more alive than ever.
Overnight: Nyungwe Top View Hotel (FB)
After breakfast. You will transfer from Nyungwe to Volcanoes national park via Kibuye, which lies at the eastern tip of Lake Kivu and visit the Diana Fossey Museum and the Dian Fossey Tomb.
Overnight: Villa Gorilla Lodge (Lunch and Dinner)
This is a small bungalow type hotel situated on the foothills of Africa's ultimate gorilla destination, Volcanoes National Park. It has priceless views of the three dormant mountains found in the park. The rooms are very clean and well decorated with authentic local handicrafts. Considering it's found at a high altitude where temperatures are low, the hot water bottles they provide is a beautiful thought.
Early morning wakeup call for Gorilla trekking. Your gorilla trek will start after a briefing by the rangers.
You will locate and interact (under supervision) with a gorilla family. The guides will interpret the apes’ behavior and advice on what you are watching.
Members of the gorilla family you’ll visit are usually spread out across perhaps a thirty meter area in the jungle. You will move from place to place, meeting each member of the family and appreciating their uniqueness. A little infant might frolic in front of you to show off new climbing skills he has learnt. If in the mood, he might reach out to you and touch you. It's such an emotional encounter that has left many in tears of joy.

Early morning wake up for Golden monkey trek. You will visit the golden monkey territory of Volcanoes National Park under ranger guidance. There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 – 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo.
Overnight at Villa Gorilla Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Your Umoja Motherlands Tours Ltd guide will transfer you back to Kigali, and if time permits you will visit different souvenir shops before proceeding to the airport for your departure flight.
