Itinerary
Upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, our guide will meet you. Having passed immigration and luggage collection please exit the arrival hall and look out for your guide who will be holding up a signboard with your name and featuring our logo and he will drive you to the hotel. This morning, after breakfast, you will embark on your journey to Kibale National Park. This is one of the parks that protects a moist evergreen forest. It is home to 13 species of chimpanzees which are man’s closest relative. Kibale National Park is located south of the town of Fort Portal; its main characteristics are the lush impenetrable forest, and, in particular, the numerous species of primates that populate it including black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys and velvet monkeys. Expert guides & visitors on the trail report that the meetings are very frequent and extremely exciting. It is best known for having the highest concentration of chimpanzees, you will get to meet these fantastic primates in their natural environment, some are accustomed to the presence of man because researchers have studied their behavior for over forty years. KIBALE FOREST CAMP
This is a tented camp located in a patch of vegetations ever green in the Kibale forest. Just outside the southern part of the national park, it boarders the magombe swamp, known for the Bigodi wetland sanctuary and just about 10mins to Kanyachu visitor’s center, the place where the chimpanzee trek starts from.
Early this morning, breakfast will be served at the lodge. After briefing, embark on the chimpanzee tracking which takes about 2-3 hours. On the trek, you can see other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabeys along with red tailed and blue monkeys. Your expert guide will share the secrets of the forest's flora and fauna, ensuring that the trail is both informative and enjoyable. After this, you will embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth Park for your Overnight at Twin Lakes safari lodge. (LDBB)
On this day after breakfast, you will check out of your lodge, you will have a game drive, lunch at Mweya safari lodge, a boat to the Kazinga channel that separates the lakes George and Edward and then you will transfer to the southern part of the park which is Ishasha for an Overnight at Ishasha jungle lodge (LDBB).
ISHASHA JUNGLE LODGE
The Lodge is located 2km off Katokye Gate of Queen Elizabeth National Park along River Ntungwe. This is the perfect location for your photographic safaris in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park and a stopover on the way to Bwindi National Park.
This day after breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park where you will spend two nights. You will encounter climbing trees lions in the Ishasha wilderness on your way.
Bwindi impenetrable rainforest is said to be 25.000 years old, making it one of Africa’s most biodiverse habitats. The altitude of this mountain peak ranges from 1200 - 2600 meters. Five rivers and a high annual rainfall make it rather humid. Besides its major attraction, the mountain gorillas (gorilla Berengaria), the National Park is also home to an amazing 120 mammal
species, 350 species of birds, 202 species of butterflies and over 200 species of trees.
It is believed that about 350 gorillas remain in several stable groups in the park. The great protection over the last years has led to a steady increase of the population.
Although best known for its mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest also attracts spectacular birds. Overnight at the Rushaga gorilla lodge. (LDBB).
Rushaga gorilla lodge This lodge is located in the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, only 10 minutes’ walk to the park Rushaga tracking gate. It is also close to Nyakagezi and Nkuringo tracking gates. The lodge has several amenities to make in place and this gives its visitors a memorable and comfortable stay. There is a range of options from Luxury cottages to standard rooms. The lodge also has ample parking space that can accommodate all vehicles even on full house. Close to the lodge is the Batwa community and some craft shops where you can buy accessories to also support the them. While here, one can choose to visit Lake Bunyonyi or even go for Golden tracking in Mgahinga national park.
Early morning breakfast to give you the energy needed for your gorilla trek.
Before 8 am report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers; the guides will then take you through the bush pushing your way through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas.
The trek can take from half an hour to 7 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes, long sleeved shirt to protect one in case of thorns in the forest, a pair of gloves, rain protection gears because the Bwindi weather is so unpredictable and a mask in cases where one has an infection and for the protection of the mountain gorillas. After breakfast, we will transfer to Lake Mburo national park where you will spend a night. You will reach at around lunch time, lunch will be served and then you will have a 2 hours boat ride with chances of viewing water body animals like hippos, buffalos and birds in compliment of the scenic view, fishing villages and cages around the lake
After breakfast, your guide will take you a game drive that will take you through the park, on your way, you will have a lunch break at the equator. Equator stopover is a classic spot for pictures and souvenirs and experiencing the two sides of the hemispheres.
Later in the afternoon, you will transfer to Entebbe city for a city tour as you await your international flight back home out of Entebbe international airport.
