6 Days – Karibu Africa Safari

On your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will Meet our Umoja Motherland tours driver/ guide who will brief you about the Safari. Then drive you to Aberdares National Park Well known to the world as the home of succession where in came a princess and out went the Queen of England while at Treetops lodge, Aberdares is a land of fortune and diversity. The Park got its name from Lord Aberdares, one of the founder members of the Royal Geographical Society. Lunch at the hotel and enjoy your afternoon and evening watching wildlife from the hotel terrace as they come to drink water at the waterhole.

One of the most exhilarating features of this colonial styled hotel is the sweeping view of the waterhole from the large balcony on each of its three floors. The view of wildlife from here is up front and personal, with sightings impressive sightings of buffalos, warthogs, waterbucks and hyensa. You will face over 20 elephants literally under your nose.

You won't have any interruptions as you watch them drink, eat, play, snuggle and bathe in a natural comfortable environment.
The lodge is well laid out and sorrounded by a jungle. Its rooms are exquisitely decorated. They are not that spacious but certainly clean and cozy. The same applies to the bathroom. The lodge has an elevated walkway for watching the birds at close range. While there, the manager will give you an gripping enlightment about the park and its animals. You can ask him as many questions as time allows.

After breakfast drive to Mount Kenya National Park. Along the way, we shall have panoramic views of coffee farms and tea farms before arriving at the lodge around mid-day and in time for lunch. Optional Masai Mara Balloon Ride: for those going for the balloon safari, you will be going for the early morning balloon, you will be picked at the hotel by the Balloon Company at 5.30am and drive to the balloon launch site where you will gather for takeoff. Enjoy early morning ballooning over the plains, getting a bird’s eye view of the game below as the sun creeps slowly over the horizon. After approximately one hour aloft, the balloon lands while a breakfast is being prepared for us nearby. The smell of bacon, sausages and eggs drift on the breeze as we sample exotic Kenyan fruits and homemade pastries and, if you wish, glasses of bubbly to toast our flight, a tradition initiated by the Montgolfier brothers.
