Bwindi Impenetrable National Park situated in the south western of Uganda is a natural will store and listed as a world heritage site. Spanning a scoring 331 sq km this is one of the oldest rainforests in Africa and it is BIO LOGICALLY DIVERSE with many varieties of trees, plants and animals. It is most well known for being habitat to over 50% of the worlds’ remaining mountain gorillas. It is rather fascinating to be able to observe these giant animals in their habitat in which people travel from all over the world to hike through waterfalls for the opportunity to observe them. Because of the many factors elaborated below, it becomes relatively very difficult to explore the park. The beautiful undergrowth of the park, the number of hills, and the numerous and beautiful streams and rivers also pose as a challenge to those exploring the park.
Besides mountain gorillas, other primates found in Bwindi are chimpanzees, black and white colobus, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. First of all, Bird watchers and lovers can see more than 350 bird species that include 23 bird species that are threatened endemic to the Albertine Rift. There are basic of trees that are found in this park, over two hundred tree species, ferns and shrubs and flowering plants varieties are also many. How long Gorilla Tracking is Uganda
Gorilla tracking in Uganda takes about 5-6 hours trek. However this depends on the allocated group that you have been given. Gorilla tracking in Uganda is divided into different levels. There is Easy Gorilla tracking, Medium Gorilla Tracking and Hard Gorilla Tracking. The Hard gorilla tracking usually involves tracking down the biggest gorilla group and this is usually at a high point on the hills. It may take you about 6 hours to track, the medium gorilla group is usually 4-5 hours and the easy one is usually 3 hours depending on your strength and the luck that you have to be in position to spot them.
