Peter Mwanja

An incentive travel specialist, Peter is the Chief Executive Officer with over 20 years expertise in effective destination management, Safari planning, Incentive travel and event management.

Peter left his accounting profession to venture into tourism, which now butters his bread. He is a graduate of Leadership and Sustainability (MBA) and Hospitality Management and a certified Incentive Specialist. He serves on the boards of Uganda Tourism Association (UTA), and also on the Uganda Association of Conference and Incentive industry (UACII). Previously served on UTO board (Association of Uganda Tour Operators Association. Peter is also a distinguished member of SITE (Society for Incentive Travel Excellence). He loves to belong to associations that add value. Peter has travelled the world extensively with the mission to market Uganda and Africa as the preferred destination for Business and Leisure. Loves to create witty travel plans that inspire people to travel, meet and discover Africa.

Outside his career, Peter loves a dip in the pool and fancies a fun family day out. He also considers himself an unofficial inspirational speaker… and an adrenaline junkie! And Yes, he is a Rotarian.

Agnes Mirembe has been involved in EastAfrican’s tourism for 9 years as a professional travel consultant and trip planner who pays attention to details and ensures client’s total satisfaction. She is always happy to work along side clients to plan your ultimate Uganda safari.

Agnes founded Umoja Motherland Tours and which is now in a dynamic partnership that has given birth to something extra-ordinary venture called Umoja Africa journeys. She is passionate about tourism and conservation. She has travelled to most of the tourism attractions so as to sell them well to the people from the out side world. Agnes loves to put together interesting packages for tourists and insuring they have a great travel experience, blending wildlife experiences with local community encounters. “I believe that through tourism one can reach out and empower local people, that is why I partnered up with a local school in my community to do a tree planting and water project and from each trip done, you indirectly support this project”.

Agnes is the the biggest advocate of women in tourism, believing that in empowering women in tourism through employing them as guides, supporting local community projects owned by women and also i have introduced women travel as part of the tour products in Umoja Africa journeys-offering women affordable safaris for them to experience East and southern Africa with us.
